A note from Kris
Adolescent, Teen and Adult Therapist
I am proudly a quirky and unique therapist, who was diagnosed with Autism, later in life. My Autism has allowed me to have a tailored approach of using distinctively individualized visual aides to help my clients, while still pulling from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). I have experience working with people throughout their life span and with varying levels of abilities. I find using a strength-based approach brings the best out in my clients. In my internship and practice, I gained experience working with people with intellectual disabilities (ID) and duly diagnosed (DD). Also, I have training in an evidence based program for emotional regulation. Most of all, I practice from a trauma informed lens.
I truly enjoy working with teens and their families. I strongly believe that families that learn together, grow together, for the better. Building foundational blocks of emotional regulation and healthy relationships helps families and individuals gain deep insight into self.
On a personal note, I have 10 years lived experience as a military spouse. I am LGTBQ+ affirming.
