Meet Megan Phillips, LMSW
Offering therapy for Children, Adolescents, Teens, & Agriculturalists
“Your story may become someone else’s survival guide.” – Brené Brown
I’m a social work graduate from the University of Iowa with a background in education and agriculture. I work with children, adolescents, teens, and adults. My goal is to help people navigate anxiety, depression, and overwhelm, as well as relationship issues and life transitions.
I will meet you with compassion and curiosity because my job is to understand what it is like to be you. I am comfortable addressing grief that includes bereavement, non-death loss that comes with natural life changes, trauma, and resilience. My trainings include TF-CBT (Trauma-focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) and TBRI (Trust-Based Relational Intervention), and I have experience with ACT (Acceptance Commitment Therapy) and MI (Motivational Interviewing).
Spanning the course of twenty years, my career in education allowed me to understand child development, including learning and communication styles of youth. I enjoy exploring ways to genuinely partner with young people, and intentionally studied several modalities tailored for children, adolescents, and teens.
My farming background brings lived experience and insight unique to agriculturalists and their families. I understand farm stress and stress unique to rural life. We may not be able to control the past, but we can change the present and protect the future.
Therapy doesn’t always begin with a crisis. My goal is to create a space where you feel comfortable exploring your experiences in your own way at your own pace. I want you to feel seen and heard, supported and empowered to discover how to improve your quality of life.

Meet Mariah Jena, t-LMHC
Adult Therapist
My name is Mariah Jena and I am a temporary mental health clinical counselor. I graduated from Colorado Christian University with my bachelor’s in psychology with an emphasis on clinical counseling. I obtained my master’s degree in Mental Health Clinical Counseling from Grand View University in Des Moines, Iowa.
I have seven years of experience working in the medical field and three years of experience working in mental health at Broadlawns Medical center where I learned the importance of therapy and the healing process. I practice from a CBT and person-centered therapy approach. It is my objective to create a safe and nonjudgmental space for adults to work through their traumas and challenges where we can collaboratively work towards goals and empower them to live more fulfilling lives.
I utilize an empathetic approach to guide self-exploration and personal growth. I have an interest in growing in my career and learning more about grief therapy and family systems therapy to extend my knowledge to serve a broader population and work with people from all walks of life towards their healing journey.
In my free time, I enjoy reading, camping, hiking, and enjoying the great outdoors.
