Offering therapy for Children, Adolescents, Women and Couples
Hi! I’m not only a licensed mental health counselor, but also a fellow human being with a variety of unique personal life experiences. I’ve navigated grief, trauma, crisis, heartbreak, and my own mental health battles.
I know firsthand how difficult it can be in a small town to find help that brings lasting change and breakthrough. Walking through my own personal counseling, Biblical counseling, medications, psychiatrists, church support, and more have given me insight into what seeking help feels like.
I know healing is possible because I’ve experienced it in my own life. I wouldn’t be where I am today without God’s healing power and the people who have walked alongside me.
I will never claim to fully understand your unique story, but I do understand emotional suffering, and I will walk alongside you with the same compassion and respect I was given.
Since the beginning, God designed us for relationships. Relationships can be a taste of heaven, but they can also be the source of our deepest pain. Healing doesn’t happen in isolation. Therapy has the potential to transform your relationship with God, yourself, and others! As a wife, mom, and stepmom, I have a strong desire to help facilitate healing and restoration in families.
God belongs in your healing journey. I integrate Biblical truth and Christian faith into therapy in meaningful and practical ways. I will laugh with you, cry with you, gently challenge you but also celebrate and delight in the person God created you to be.
Therapy is a sacred and confidential space, and I deeply respect the trust involved. It would be my honor to work with you.
My approach draws from EMDR, CBT, ACT, AEDP, Narrative Therapy, Neuroscience Informed Christian Counseling, Relational Life Therapy, DBT, EFS, Gottman method, and I am a certified Ron Deal SMART Stepfamily provider.
Meet Mariah Jena, t-LMHC
Adult Therapist
My name is Mariah Jena and I am a temporary mental health clinical counselor. I graduated from Colorado Christian University with my bachelor’s in psychology with an emphasis on clinical counseling. I obtained my master’s degree in Mental Health Clinical Counseling from Grand View University in Des Moines, Iowa.
I have seven years of experience working in the medical field and three years of experience working in mental health at Broadlawns Medical center where I learned the importance of therapy and the healing process. I practice from a CBT and person-centered therapy approach. It is my objective to create a safe and nonjudgmental space for adults to work through their traumas and challenges where we can collaboratively work towards goals and empower them to live more fulfilling lives.
I utilize an empathetic approach to guide self-exploration and personal growth. I have an interest in growing in my career and learning more about grief therapy and family systems therapy to extend my knowledge to serve a broader population and work with people from all walks of life towards their healing journey.
In my free time, I enjoy reading, camping, hiking, and enjoying the great outdoors.
